U5 Soccer Program

The Purpose of the U5 Soccer Program is to introduce children to the basic rules of soccer, develop basic soccer skills, and most important, to have fun playing soccer in preparation for a full-blown soccer team program!

Kids born during February 2001 through July 2001 are eligible for the Spring 06 season. These dates are different from last Fall. These dates are set by Green Country Soccer Assn and we can't change them.

The U5 Soccer Program will consist of 2 one-hour sessions each week during the regular spring season.

During the first practice of the week, the kids will learn the basic skills and rules of soccer.

During the second practice of the week, the kids will be divided into even numbered teams depending on the number of kids available that day and play mini soccer games against each other. No permanent teams will be formed.

Due to the age of the children, parents will be asked to actively participate with their child.

SIGN UP REQUIREMENTS:

· Fill out the Registration Form and return it by January 31, 2006

· Attach a copy of the child’s birth certificate

· Attach $35 registration fee (make checks payable to: Cleveland Soccer Club)

ADDITIONAL INFO:

· Shin guards are required (they can be purchased at Wal-Mart or any other sports store)

· Cleats are recommended, but a good tennis shoe will be ok.

· A size 3 soccer ball is highly recommended (we will have extra soccer balls at practice, but each child will probably want their own)
